Handelseweg roundabout in Gemert

Last summer we supplied almost 50 tonnes of HEA 340 section beams, commissioned by BAM Infra. The beams were custom made on-site and served as rails for an innovative project: sliding into place a 1.2 million kilo concrete and steel roundabout along a distance of 39 metres. The roundabout was in place on 17 October after 6 hours of sliding with the help of hoisting cables and hydraulic machines. This is the first time that such a method has been used for a roundabout in the Netherlands.
